to come try us out!

The SuperStar Stingrays promote, foster, and develop cheerleading in North Simcoe County, helping athletes grow in a supportive environment that welcomes all levels of skill and achievement.

Committed to coaching with integrity, we don't just develop awesome skills, we develop awesome individuals thus furthering the character development of young athletes.

We, as coaches, promise to give 100% of ourselves and ask our athletes for the same dedication to the team and to each other, and ask parents to support the athlete in their dedicated efforts.

First we build relationships,
next we build trust,
then we build leaders.....
in cheerleading
and more importantly, in life!

With a 10 year history, the Stingray coaches are fully qualified USASF and AACCA credentialed professionals. Their expertise includes tumbling, stunting, tosses, competition routine music mixes, dance, pom routines, cheerleading/game cheering and choreography.

We pride ourselves on community involvement and will keep athletes updated on events we will be supporting, such as Canada Day, Kempenfest, the Terry Fox Run and the Special Olympics; to name a few.

During the regular season, all teams are competitive from the youngest TINY team to the oldest OPEN team. For all ability levels (Level 1 through 6) as per USASF 2007/2008 (United States All-Star Federation) Rules & Regulations.

***The age of athletes as of May 31st, 2007 will be the ages used for team placement throughout the 2007-2008 season for all Stingray teams****

Tryouts:  are for you to come and try-us-out!  All athletes entering the gym must complete a Registration
form for Insurance reasons.  Some realignment with the squads may be necessary based on the number of squad entries.
Permanent positions will be awarded to members based on skills, attitude, demonstrated safety, attendance, and participation in group activities.  All members will be taught cheerleading skills with the intention of fulfilling a competitive role.  We have teams geared to all ages, abilities & commitment levels in order to provide the opportunity for as many athletes as possible to participate.

Appearance & conduct:  All athletes must remove any piercings & jewelry before practice and for all competitions.  Taping over jewelry is NOT permitted except Medical Alert bracelets.  This is a safety issue.  Any tattoos should be discreet and covered by the uniform.

Practice/Attendance:  All practices and competitions are mandatory.  There will be no “make-up” practices for those missed.  The coaches reserve the right to remove any squad member from the competitive team when that member’s attendance/attitude/or skill level affects the squad’s performance.  If an absence is absolutely unavoidable it is the athlete’s (or parent’s) responsibility to notify the head coach in advance.

Your absence affects the whole team!

All practices are closed to all spectators & parents.  Parents are welcome to return 10 minutes prior to the scheduled end of practice for all squads.

A practice schedule, including some competitions, will be handed out at Registration.

Uniforms/clothing/apparel:  Contact Bridgette McIntyre 705-526-3577

Smoking:  is NOT allowed at any club sanctioned event including practices, public appearances, camp, clinics, and all competitions.  Any squad member caught smoking will not be allowed to compete.  As cheerleading is a very aerobic sport, the coaches encourage all athletes to deal with their tobacco addiction.  Absolutely NO smoking on facility prior to, during, or after practice.

Competitions:  As a competitive club we will be competing throughout the year, in Ontario & the U.S.A. Notice of dates & any competition fees will be given in advance with Registration forms.

Community Events:  As we have had good support from the local communities in the past, we anticipate continued participation in parades, local fairs, Special Olympics, and the Terry Fox Run kick-off celebrations/performance.  All squad members are expected to attend all official functions as deemed necessary by the coaches.

Physical Fitness:  As an athlete, you should recognize that it is your responsibility to care for your body through proper nutrition, sleep, and physical exercise.

Injuries:  Any injuries during or outside practice MUST be reported immediately to a coach.  The coaches accept the responsibility to make the training session as safety conscious as possible but as cheerleading is a “full-body contact sport”, some injuries may occur.

No HORSEPLAY or UNSUPERVISED STUNTING will be tolerated.

Important ** These policies have been created to simplify the registration process and our training year … we hope they will avoid any misunderstandings.  If as a parent, you have any concerns with any of these policies, please do not hesitate to contact our head coach at any time other than when she is busy on the training floor.

Failure to meet any of these conditions will result in the immediate removal of the athlete from
the training session and may result in expulsion from the squad.

***The age of athletes as of May 31st, 2007 will be the ages used for team placement throughout the 2007-2008 season for Stingray athletes***
